I guess you would call me a ‘person with all hats’. I’m a mother, an emergency room nurse, a High Performance Coach and an U.S Navy veteran, just to name a few.
Yea, it may seem like a lot of hats to juggle but it wasn’t always like this.
I served in the U.S. Navy for 7 years as a Hospital Corpsman. I loved medicine. I was passionate about it. I knew way back in high school I wanted to be in the medical field. So, what better way to test my passion than enlist in the military, right? Well, my passion was tested and confirmed. I absolutely enjoyed being in the medical field. I loved it!
It wasn’t until the end of my 7-year service where I wanted to pursue higher education so I left and enrolled in University where I achieved my nursing degree. I was a bonafide nurse now. I loved being a nurse. I enjoyed helping people when they needed it the most. I cared for the people I was helping. This was my life now and I was ready to accept it.
I met my late husband and we got married. A few years into our marriage, he was diagnosed with colon cancer (he too was a military veteran) and passed away only just a few short years into our marriage.
Standing by his side, while having our daughter (she was a baby at the time) AND working 12 hour-shifts as a nurse became a struggle.
Life was hard!
I wanted a better way. I still wanted to help people, but I wanted to do it on my own terms, so that I can be there for my family.
I wanted to control and live my own life. I wanted the freedom most talk about, but few actually have.
So, I started to investigate ways of having my own business so that I can help people.
I truly believe that when you put your intention out into the Universe, the Universe will answer.
Coaching was the vehicle I needed in order to provide me the life I desperately wanted. This avenue was all about uplifting and changing lives for the better. That I can do. :-)
I found High Performance Coaching to be the answer I was looking for. I, myself, became a student of coaching. I wanted to experience what it was like to be coached through High Performance and the results were nothing short of AMAZING!
In just a few short months, I self-published a book on Amazon called “Un-Hot The Mess You Are”, (written and published in 30 days!!), I started getting clients in my coaching business, I got my energy back and focused on my health, I became more intentional with the people around me and created deep, meaningful relationships, I had more time to spend with my daughter, and I generally felt really good about life….a certain joy and happiness (some would say it’s gratitude).
Today, it’s my duty and mission to help my fellow veterans achieve a better way of living. I know what can be possible and I want to serve as many veterans as I can.
I know it’s challenging trying to adjust to civilian life after leaving the military. I get that. I was told I was “overqualified” for the majority of jobs I applied to. (How the heck can you be overqualified?!)
I know that it’s financially challenging to adjust to life post military. You had a stable, consistent income and POOF! It’s gone. Now what?
I know the mental and physical pain that was a result of your service are still plaguing you everyday. It’s hard to feel joy and happiness every day. I mean seriously? How can you feel happy about life when you’re in pain and agony?
Don’t you think life could be better?
Wouldn’t you like to live life everyday, with more fun, more meaning, more success, more of the good things that life has to offer?
I want that for you and I’m here to reassure you that it is completely possible.
